We are want to give The Bloody Beetroots fans a chance to create their version of a teaser for The Bloody Beetroots debut full length album “Romborama” that hits stores on Tues. Aug. 25th, 2009!

Download the ZIP file HERE that has live video clips, logos, and everything you need to create the most amazing album teaser / promo video ever!

The contest BEGINS on TUESDAY AUGUST 25TH **AT NOON**, the day the album hits stores, and ENDS on TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 8TH at MIDNIGHT.

In order for the video to qualify for the contest, you must follow these guidelines and include:

  • Download the ZIP file HERE that has live video clips, logos, and everything you need.
  • Edit the video using iMovie, Final Cut, or whatever else you got. Free, easy to use programs, can be found here: http://eyespot.com or http://www.onetruemedia.com or http://www.pixorial.com
  • The teaser can be no longer than 45 seconds long (it can be shorter).
  • The teaser can include only music from the song “Awesome Ft. The Cool Kids” that we have included; no additional audio (you can pick what section of the song you want to use).
  • ONLY use clips and logos that we provide, except for your text about the release date and the phrase below.
  • ONLY use video clips from the Beetroots’ recent live show that we have provided.
  • The Dim Mak logo.
  • The Bloody Beetroots logo.
  • The “Romborama” CD cover graphic with text that says AUGUST 25TH, 2009 (you can say “hit stores”, “drops”, or whatnot) above or below it.
  • ***KEY ELEMENT*** The PHRASE “The Bloody Beetroots are here to” and YOU complete the sentence with your interpretation about what they are here to do (ex: dominate music, start the party, make people dance, etc.)
  • ***USE CREATIVITY***

  • Create the teaser video using a video editor and upload the video to your YouTube account.
  • Post the video (embedded) on the Dim Mak contest page (that’s this page)!
  • Tell all your friends (and even people you don’t know) to watch your video and give it good ratings.

Three winners will be chosen different ways:

  • One winner will be chosen by having the video that has the most views.
  • One winner will be chosen by having the video with the highest ratings.
  • One winner will be chosen by the Dim Mak staff, based on the video we like best!
  • Each video can only win once, so if one video wins multiple categories, we will then pick the second place in that category.

A Bloody Beetroots / Dim Mak prize pack which consists of the following:

  • Copies of the Beetroots’ releases on Dim Mak: Rombo EP (CD), Cornelius (Vinyl), Warp (Vinyl), Romborama (Vinyl), and the last five Dim Mak CD releases.
  • A Dim Mak Collection x Bloody Beetroots exclusive t-shirt of your choice.
  • The Bloody Beetroots posters and posters and stickers by all of our current artists (and Dim Mak stickers).
  • Two tickets to see a Dim Mak artist (when they are next on tour in your area) or attend a Dim Mak event of your choice.

  • WE LOVE THE BLOODY BEETROOTS and we want YOU, their wonderful fans, to help spread the word using your creativity and your vision for the way that the Beetroots should be promoted!
  • We think it’s fun, everyone likes to be creative, and everybody deserves a chance to make an awesome “Awesome” (pun intended) teaser video!

As you may or may not know, Dim Mak Collection and Urban Outfitters had a love child!  

Actually, they had two.  Fraternal Twins!  Welcome, In Your Face Tee and In Your Face Tank!  They are a-dorable and totally cuddle-able.  But like all newborns, these guys have kept me up nights ALL WEEK… and weekend, unfortunately.

When they first arrived on Tuesday, I was like, “Oooh! Awww! Yayyyy!! They’re finally here!!”   Then, surprise, surprise, they needed all this attention, and i was like, “Oh.  Um.  You want me to… You mean I have to… do that?  All by myself??”

 Man, I mean Urban was great in bed and everything, and yeah we made some good lookin’ babies, but Urban’s in Philly, and I’m in New York, and Grandpa Steve is probably in an airport terminal in Germany or something, and the rest of the family is in LA… so, really it was just me this week, folding and tagging and swaddling the kids in polybags.  Being a single parent is hard, yo!! 

Here’s how it went down, in pictures… the DMC x UO Family Album: Week One.

At first they were totally chill.  They took up a lot of room sure, but they just kind of hung out.

Then they were like, “Wahh, stack me, fold me, tag me, boo hoo.” 

Skylar and Johnny Rad from Kemado Records’ “Children” ( http://www.kemado.com ) brought their lil’ one by for a play date.

…A face only a mother could love.  We listened to Scooby Doo’s “Best of Slayer” covers album and ate pizza.

Half a pizza, three-quarters of a 40, and 8 hours later, at 3 am on Thursday morning, they were tagged, stacked, and tucked in for the night.

The next day, we got them all gussied up so they would be ready to go to their father’s on Friday.  *Note the picture of Freddy Kruger chillin’ with Tupac on the back wall*

… But that’s what love is.

Take note of the twine wrapped around each little stack.  Please, for the love of mike, someone take note.  After we tagged and folded everything, they had to be stacked into groups of six ( with 2 smalls, 2 mediums, 1 large, and 1 xl), tied up, and boxed.

…Finally, we got the kids all saddled up, strapped in, and out the door.  

They’ll be in Urban Outfitters stores and online at Urbanoutfitters.com (in super duper limited numbers) starting May 17th!  Go say hi to them and give them all a big hug for me.
