Well as you all can see looks like SPA’s Ep, on vinyl, will be coming out this February 3rd and as a digital release February 24th. The EP contains mixes by The Bloody Beetroots, Les Petits Pilous, and Steve Aoki. If you can’t wait that long and want to prepare for what will be a great EP go take a listen on SPA’s Myspace! There you can also catch the other track Dumbo along with some remixes they have out.
SPA came around 2007 and signed with Dim Mak in 2008. Besides Pets Dance they had a few remixes out for people such as Mickey Moonlight from Ed Banger, Pacific!, and Neimo.
Their latest single Pets Dance draws from animal’s erratic behavior. SPA creates different moods through out one song. Some have called it a “psycho-active substance.” It’s robotic, hard, and all over the place in an semi-chaotic way, but intriguing enough that you want to listen and dance to it. So take a listen…and draw your inner animal out!! Become one with the Pets Dance!
As you guys know Steve and The Bloody Beetroots are touring Europe as we speak. The Bloody Beetroots are definitely becoming the next BIG thing! I posted earlier that if you visited their myspace you can get a listen to the new Teaser Mix 2009. Well here is the tracklisting for the mix:
- Tiga – Mind Dimension (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- Zoo Brazil Ft. Adam Sky – Circle Jerk (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- [[[Zuper Blahq]]] - Here We Go (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- The All American Rejects – Gives You Hell (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- Sound of Stereo – Heads Up! (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- Pink – So What (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- Peaches – Billionaire (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- SPA – Pets Dance (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
- Fact – Fog (The Bloody Beetroots remix)
The mix has a bunch of goodies, especially SPA’s Pets Dance, which will be out on Dim Mak Records as an EP with another track named Dumbo.
Also, if you have been online and watching out for other upcoming releases you would know that Steve and The Bloody Beetroots have been working on a little something called Warp. You can catch a preview of it on a youtube video…from one of The Bloody Beetroots show.
Well Billboard Mag decided to tell everyone what labels to watch and well . . . they named Dim Mak as one of the labels to watch . . . here is what they said:

The ever-evolving Dim Mak, run by Los Angeles DJ Steve Aoki, has a giant slate of releases set for the year. MSTRKRFT’s “Fist of God,” which features guest appearances by John Legend, N.O.R.E., ISIS, Ghostface Killa and E-40, is one of the label’s big priorities and will be aided by the resources of its joint-venture partner, Downtown Records. New full-length albums from the Bloody Beetroots, Scanners, the Willowz and Felix Cartal are also on tap. The label will continue to generate attention with its clothing line and Aoki’s globe-spanning DJ gigs.
We have even more cool records coming in 2009 . . . more news as it happens.
Check out our band From Monument To Masses’ rcrdlbl.com page for a free download of Felix Cartal’s remix of their track “Beyond God & Elvis”!!
We’re putting out From Monument To Masses (FMTM) “Beyond God & Elvis Remix Single” this Tuesday 1/27/09 as a teaser for their spring release, full length “On Little Known Frequencies” (an epic album btw!!). ”Beyond God & Elvis Remix Single” also features remixes from Designer Drugs, Mixhell, and the original, non-remixed track.

In case you guys didn’t know MSTRKRFT will be releasing their new album, Fist of God, in March. The date on their myspace is March 17th 2009, check it out if you want to see what they have been up to.

The dynamic duo from the electronic world…also called Canada…that brought you Easy Love, The Look, and their latest single BOUNCE and VuVuVu are back at it again. Fresh off their tour, The Fist of God, they are ready to release what will be their second album full of original content. So no more listening to their remixes of The Kills, Bloc Party, Wolfmother, and Chromeo, to name a few…ok listen to those too, but be on the look out for the new album, Fist of God. Now true I have not heard it, but if BOUNCE is a tease of what is to come…I am on board! So keep an eye out for the new album. Go check out their myspace and keep checking back on theDim Mak blog for any updates.
Ohhhhh, while you are at it check out their video for BOUNCE…ok you are dismissed!
